Description

There has been an overwhelming demand for telehealth services to reduce barriers to accessing care during the recent pandemic. The skills needed by therapists to implement telehealth are now a requirement. This course will prepare therapists for immediate implementation of telehealth services through analysis of legal compliance with telehealth laws, assessment of appropriate model of communication and implementation of effective telehealth intervention.

Elizabeth Abadiotakis, OTD, OTR/L is a dynamic occupational therapist who has specialized in pediatrics and school-based therapy for over 18 years. Her foundational skills were established in multiple pediatric settings including Center for Pediatric Therapy in Connecticut as a clinical coordinator. She went on to open and direct a pediatric clinic, The Interactive Playground and Wellness Center of New Jersey. After starting her family, Dr. Liz sought balance in her role as a mother and moved on from the clinic to further her education and experience. Dr. Liz's doctoral capstone focused on parents attaining quality parenting information. This resulted in her most recent business, Dr. Liz the OT, LLC, which provides support to parents of children of all abilities as well as the development of the parentingannex.com, a website that connects parents to pediatric professionals through organized quick tip videos.

She owns a consulting/telehealth/speaking business, Dr. Liz the OT, LLC (which also runs parentingannex.com) through which she receives payment for services rendered. She receives a salary from Holmdel Board of Education as a school based Occupational Therapist where she co-develops curriculum.

NONFINANCIAL: Elizabeth Abadiotakis is a volunteer member of the NJOTA and the AOTA. She also voluntarily serves on the Rutgers University Advisory board for the OTD Program.
